About

A life and body of work rooted in one place.

Stephen Maury grew up on Nantucket, and nearly everything he has worked on—brokerage, rentals, software, development, and town government—comes back to how property and a year-round community fit together.

From Nantucket

Stephen was raised on Nantucket as part of a family with multigenerational ties to the island. After Nantucket High School, he attended the George Washington University. He returned with a wider frame of reference and a lasting interest in the practical systems that shape life in a small, unusually complex community.

Work from the inside

Stephen Maury is a Nantucket business owner and operator. His work in real estate and rentals is practical and ongoing: property, customers, owners, systems, and the many details required to make an island business function.

Alongside that operating work, he builds property technology. The aim is not to add technology for its own sake, but to make information that is scattered or difficult to interpret more useful to the people who need it.

Civic life

Stephen served for more than ten years on Nantucket’s Finance Committee, with his term ending in June 2025, and served on the Nantucket Planning Board from 2011 to 2012. He joined the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity Nantucket in 2024 and has served as its president since 2026. Those experiences brought a different view of the same place: public budgets, land use, infrastructure, housing, and the compromises that shape decisions over time.

The businesses, products, and public service are separate. What connects them is sustained work in a small community where the consequences of property decisions are visible.

Home

Stephen and his wife, Julia, are raising three sons on Nantucket. The island is not simply the subject of his work; it is home.
